Hi. I am having some problems using IRCd.js. It started about a week ago f no apparent reason (ok I did a CVS upgade). I have tried using the very lat ircd.js and also the older version. I stillg et the same problem:
When I connect to IRC with my client, either MIRC or the Sync IRC js, it connects fine, but if I /JOIN #BBS I get the following:
Local Host: carso.synchro.net (192.168.1.4)
ERROR A fatal error occured!
* Disconnected
If I then reconnect a couple of times, it eventually starts to work ok..
when the error happens, in the synchronet log I see:
Jan 24 19:48:45 carso synchronet: srvc 0021 IRC Client: Client connecting: Merlin (~merlin@carso.synchro.net) [192.168.1.100] {3}
Jan 24 19:48:45 carso synchronet: srvc 0021 IRC client_update(0025,Merlin,carso.synchro.net)
Jan 24 19:48:45 carso synchronet: srvc 0021 IRC Routing: from carso.synchro.net: FATAL ERROR: TypeError: Channels[chan] has no properties CMDLINE: JOIN #bbs
Jan 24 19:48:45 carso synchronet: srvc 0021 IRC JavaScript exception: TypeError: Channels[chan] has no properties CMDLINE: JOIN #bbs
Jan 24 19:48:45 carso synchronet: srvc 0021 IRC Terminating: A fatal error occured!
Has anyone any idea what this is?
Cheers

Ah I notice you're also on ADSL too like me. These wireless routers
suck! I miss cable.

Well, I don't miss cable here, it was three times as much, for 1/2 the IP's, 1/2 the bandwidth and 1/2 the service.

Ya true. But this wireless router is so dumb for the way you have to set it up. It takes forever just to do something on it.

You don't *HAVE* to run the DSL modem/router they gave you.. I'm running
a cisco dsl modem in front of a D-Link DFL-300 firewall... I have a D-Link wireless access point, but it's currently unplugged.
I may set up the wireless access on the firewall's DMZ port (only allowing w access with limited bandwidth), but for now, I don't need it... I set it up when I was playing around with my palm, and haven't really used it since, so unplugged it...

I'm not gonna buy myself another modem. I can't afford it.

Question for you. Do you see any difference running a cisco or lets just sa any other DSL modem then the ones from the ISP. Is it worth getting a bette modem? The one they gave me has been working fine. But will I get a higher speed from a better brand?
On to features, this is probably why Tracker is running a Cisco modem instead of the supplied ISP modem. Cheap modem == crappy features, personally I'm happy tho with a simple modem that just lets me do all the fancy stuff in my router the way I want to do it.
