From Doctor N@VERT/PRUTS to All on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 06:37:45
    hmmm,...

When I add a command to my command shell which calls MAIL_SEND_NETMAIL, it asks me for a mail address, and whichever I type (fido, name fido, email address), it then tells me it's sending from my internal email account like so:

    Sending Mail To: NC 28:292/9999
    From: doctor.n@ggtm.eu

Am I missing something in my setup or is this normal?

    Greetz,

    ~ Doctor N.

The proper syntax for the To: field would be "NC@28:292/9999".

That said, why are you sending *to* a temporary node address? I think you have that backwards (the temporary node address is for *your* system, not the hub).

I tried (which comes from the standard 'simple.src'):

    CMDKEY S
    INT i
    COPY i _netmail_misc
    OR i _inetmail_misc
    AND i NMAIL_FILE
    COMPARE i 0
    IF_FALSE
    no_yes "\r\nAttach a file"
    END_IF
    IF_FALSE
    mail_send_netfile
    ELSE
    mail_send_netmail
    END_IF
    END_CMD

    And I've tried simply:

    CMD_KEY S
    mail_send_netmail
    END_CMD

Both ending in the same mail-menu saying it's 'Internet Mail' and it's coming from my internal e-mail address (alias@hostname),... Of which the latter is the fact that makes me suspicious,... ;p

The proper syntax for the To: field would be "NC@28:292/9999".

Also, as you mentioned this is for fidonet, there is no zone 28. Net 292 I believe is Ward, so you would be sending to NC@2:292/xxxx. Then this is also true...

That said, why are you sending *to* a temporary node address? I think
you have that backwards (the temporarynode address is for *your* system, not the hub).

Exactly. I even went as far as checking the nodelist, and if that is, in
fact, the correct zone and net you're (Doctor N) sending to, you should be sending a netmail to: "Steven Leeman@2:292/624" who is the NC for that net.
If you don't get a response within a few days, you can try "Ward Dossche@2:292/854" also (who is the ZC for zone 2 as well, and can pass you
off to the proper RC or NC of your location.

    Regards,
    Nick
