I wish I never bought the epson ecotank printer, ive owned it since 2018 and im likely going to drain

Do you really NEED a printer? i've owned a bunch and the ink situation is just A pain in the ass. I have one sitting in a tub someplace. I used it once.

He mentioned the ink will dry out, which is a common problem with any inkjet printer (although has Epson solved that somehow?). I used to use inkjet printers, and I print rarely enough that by the time I wanted to print something again, the ink would be dry. I ended up deciding to buy a laser printer, and I'm glad I did.

I think a 3-in-1 printer/scanner/copier is convenient to have at home.
I don't need one very often, but sometimes I do, and since I have one
at home, I don't need to go to a print/copy place.

Sometimes you get lucky. I have a 15
year old brother printer I got at a
thrift shop for less than $10 and it
still works great for the 6 times a
year I need it. I agree with you
though, I don't know that I would buy anew one if I didn't have to, ESPECIALLYfrom HP.
Find an old HP and you're golden. I > had a tech surplus store near me

As long as you print something a couple of times a month the eco tank does'nt dry out, they actually automatically wet the print head every so often. you do have to replace the overflow filter once in awhile, amazon has them for cheap, they only need replaced like every two years, and the printer gives a warning when it needs changing.
...the printer gives a warning when it needs changing.
a job, every so often I'll print a resume for places that (rarely) want a printed resume, or when I'm getting my resume reviewed by someone.

That's good. For me, I'd probably have to set a reminder to remind myself to print something that often. Still, I think I'd prefer a laser printer, as it doesn't really matter how long I go without printing; I can come back and print something any time and it's fine.
Also, I don't know for sure, but it seems to me that the 3-in-1 printer/scanner/copier machines use laser toner more often than ink for printing. I find those devices fairly handy, as I sometimes like to scan documents into my computer (such as paperwork for big purchases, and sometimes receipts, etc.).

Speaking of resumes, have you heard of ATS? Some bullshit software that apparently all resumes are going through that decides whether you move on to a real person or not. I'm pretty sure my resume is getting filtered out by this crap at every job I've applied to in the past two years. Many people with perfectly good resumes are not making it to the hiring managers for review. It's supposed to just filter our the people that have no business applying for the positions, but it's blocking 1000% more.

Long ago I decided to get a Laser printer so I didn't have to deal
with jets clogging and ink or ribbons drying out and such.
On a Boxing Day sale I got a Samsung Laser printer and it's been
great. I don't use it a huge amount but it's been working fine since
2006..

I liked my Canon printer which went belly-up a couple of years ago. I replaced it with an HP and now know that I will never buy another HP printer. The next one will be something different... maybe another
canon.
Brother laser for the win.

one time my 'monitor' (i call them displays) blew and i was able to redirect the output to my printer so i could see what
directries
i was in and what i was doing. that was only dos though. i can't belive i even did that.
I've been hiring for my organization lately. It's obvious which resumes are tailored to my job descriptions, when they hit every software title or technology we're asking for.
Then, when HR passes them on to me for a video interview, it's totally obvious that they have no experience with it. My screening question is, "Tell me a story about your experiences with {software/technology} and how it affected the company for the better?"
They'll usually open a LLM window and start reading what comes out.
I've also seen some hiring managers say they don't like candidates using AI at all for their resume or cover letter because they don't think that really represents who they are (they want to see something that really comes from the candidate).

I love my epson ecotank 4800 series printer, prints double sided, can scan serveral pages at once, can print to a pdf file, I can fax and so much more.

I have a Brother laser priner as well.. It's one of their
multi-function printers, and I find it useful.

I also have an HP OfficeJet multi-function, which works well too, but the color ink cartridges are ridiculously expensive. I do like the copy/scan functions and the color ability if needed. Between the two printers I'm covered for all that I need.

I have two HP 7600 Smart Tank print/scan/fax and they have been rock
solid for my Windows and Linux machines to print to, very fast too. The ink costs about $60.00 total for color and black to fill it up and
lasts me about a year and a half before I have to refill it, and I
print quite a bit. I highly recommend them over the Brother color laser
I had before.

I'm doing a job search right now, and I've heard differing opinions about using AI to help tailor a resume & cover letter to an application. Everyone agrees that you should check & edit what the AI generates to ensure it doesn't have false information, though I've also seen some hiring managers say they don't like candidates using AI at all for their resume or cover letter because they don't think that really represents who they are (they want to see something that really comes from the candidate).
